Ingredients

  • 1 Cup milk | whole, oat, or almond
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar | adjust to taste
  • ΒΌ tsp vanilla extract
  • salt | pinch

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together milk, cocoa powder, sugar, chocolate syrup, vanilla, and salt. Heat gently until smooth and steaming. Do not boil.
  • In a bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  • Pour hot chocolate into a mug and spoon whipped cream generously on top.
  • Finish with chocolate shavings, cocoa dusting, or marshmallows if desired. Serve immediately.
