Equipment

  • Glass
  • Spoon or stirrer
  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee
  • ½ cup milk or cream of choice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract or vanilla syrup
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1–2 tsp sugar, maple syrup, or sweetener

Instructions

  • Brew strong coffee and allow it to cool completely if using hot coffee.
  • Fill a glass with ice.
  • Pour coffee over the ice.
  • Add milk or cream and stir gently.
  • Stir in vanilla and optional sweetener.
  • Add a very small pinch of salt and stir well.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or salt if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use strong coffee to prevent ice from diluting flavor
  • Start with just 2–3 grains of salt and adjust carefully
  • Cold brew creates a smoother, less acidic drink
  • Real vanilla extract tastes better than artificial flavoring
  • Dissolve sweetener before adding ice for smoother texture
  • Works with dairy or plant-based milk
  • Optional garnish: light sprinkle of sea salt or vanilla cream foam
