Equipment

  • Tall glass
  • Spoon
  • Measuring cups

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ice
  • ¾ cup sparkling water or club soda (cold)
  • ¼ cup flavored syrup (vanilla, strawberry, raspberry, peach, or orange)
  • 2–3 tbsp heavy cream or half-and-half

Instructions

  • Fill a tall glass about ¾ full with ice.
  • Pour flavored syrup directly over the ice.
  • Slowly add cold sparkling water, pouring down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
  • Gently pour cream over the soda and watch it swirl.
  • Stir once or twice gently. Top with whipped cream if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use cold sparkling water for best fizz
  • Add cream last for the best visual swirl
  • Do not over-stir to prevent flattening
  • Adjust syrup amount to control sweetness
  • Best enjoyed immediately after making
  • Dairy-free creamers work well as substitutes
